Daddy's little girls

I joked around with my husband the other day and told him that I am going to have to write a "how to raise girls" manual for him..

It takes a special man to be a daddy to girls, it really does, especially when there is more than one girl in the family. A dads role in a daughters life is SO important (which is why we need mommy's AND daddy's). The way girls are treated by their dad can determine a lot in their lives, believe me.

Adam is an amazing dad and I can see how God has and is working in him to become the father to our princesses that HE has created Adam to be. I tell him that he is in for a wild ride, this is coming from the oldest of 4 girls. I do my best to give him a heads up on what girls may expect from daddy, and that a fathers words can make or break a daughter, to speak kind words to them often; telling them how proud he is and how beautiful they look. Adam is the ultimate example for my girls.

Now as for myself, I am a little nervous to raise girls. Coming from a house full of girls, I know how we can get, especially at 13,14,& 15. When I found out our 1st was a girl, all I could think about was "oh crap, I'm going to get taste of my own medicine." Then when we found out our 2nd was a girl too, I thought "well, buckle up!" lol

We can try and read every book and article on how to raise girls, but Adam and I will not be able to do it without praying that God would give us wisdom and leaving them in His hands.

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
the fruit of the womb a reward"
Psalm 127: 3

  1. So true, Natasha. Little AND big girls both need their Daddy. No one can take his place.
